Things to do

Bruges is incontrovertibly one of the most attractive cities in Europe. The canals and alleyways, the churches, alms and patricians houses, the decoratively restored gables and the museums full of art treasures bring the past palpably to life. Furthermore, Bruges is a living, modern and romantic city which has something to offer to even the most demanding visitors. In order to conserve the numerous monuments in the best possible condition, a traffic reduction policy is operated. As a pedestrian, you will derive twice the enjoyment of the open-air museum Bruges is in all its historic splendour. Take a unique boat journey on the "Reien", as the canals of the city of Bruges are known. A visit to Bruges is not complete without having seen the idyllic Beguine Convent and the romantic Minnewater.

The impressive Market Place and the adjecent Castle form the real city centre of Bruges. In the Basilica of the Sacred Blood, the relic of the Sacred Blood is kept. In the adjacent museum, you can admire the Shrine of the Sacred Blood. During the famous procession, the relic is carried around in this jewel of the goldsmith's craft. Museum lovers can relish a variety of museums, including a Lace Museum.

In Ostend, the sporting and recreation facilities are endless. For every thinkable sport you find suitable accommodations on the beaches, in the parks and in the sportcentres. For those that seek entertainment of a different kind, there are traffic free shopping streets or a flourishing nightlife.
